Oceaneering Senior Management places a high priority on engineering excellence, commitment and professionalism as a necessary basis for successful project design, planning and execution. Engineering project support for subsea field development and mobile offshore production systems (MOPS) encompasses all of the following:
- Conceptual design and systems engineering -- Generating creative approaches for value-added solutions to problems with broad, systems-level impact
- Project definition and pre-planning -- Development of workscope/work-breakdown structure (WBS), design basis, schedule, budget, EHS program, and quality standards
- Project communications and interface coordination, both internal and external
- Quality definition, planning and execution; development of quality plans for overall project, WBS/workscope packages and hardware deliverables
- Procurement, including specification development, bid package preparation, supplier and subcontractor selection, and subcontractor supervision
- Preparation, control and distribution of supporting engineering documentation
- Monitoring of deliverables -- Schedule, quality and cost control
- Preparation of final project deliverables -- Data book, final project review and reports
Oceaneering's project engineering strength is based on advanced mechanical design and analysis capabilities used to solve complex problems for marine and subsea applications associated with the production, storage and transport of oil and natural gas. Specialized expertise exists in the areas of vessel structures and operating systems, mooring systems, hydrocarbon processing systems, subsea wellheads and production trees, subsea templates and manifolds, subsea connections and system interfaces, and subsea control systems.
As relatively senior personnel, project engineers at Oceaneering address problems at the system level. For more detailed engineering in mature areas such as naval architecture, process systems or mooring analysis, Oceaneering relies on a network of more specialized subcontractors who work under the direction of our project engineers. Our project engineers and managers are also experienced field hands and are often assigned to supervise construction, manufacturing and installation operations in shipyards, OEM shops and on location offshore.
In support of engineering design and operating activities, Oceaneering utilizes the following computer software:
- AutoCAD (Version 13) - Design/Drafting
- Pro/Engineer - Solid Modeling & Design System
Engineering and project management personnel at Oceaneering bring a wealth of professionalism, knowledge and experience, along with many years of essential engineering "know-how," to any MOPS or subsea field development project. The background experience of Oceaneering engineers includes drilling and production operations, offshore construction, pipeline installation, and tanker construction and operations, as well as the design, manufacture and installation of subsea production equipment. An established engineering project team enables Oceaneering to plan projects with an appreciation for the big picture and manage them with attention to the smallest details. The results are projects that meet EHS, budget, schedule and quality objectives and deliver value to the Customer. At Oceaneering, project engineering is characterized by all of the following: · Proven project management and prime contracting capability · A systems perspective in evaluating field development options · Extensive field development expertise in subsea completion and mobile offshore production system applications · A strong background in marine operations and offshore systems management · Specialized engineering applications · Industry acknowledged consulting engineering expertise.
